Suicide, there's that word again. The word no-one really likes to say. Or even think about. Maybe it will just go away...
WHY?? It will NOT go away and how long do we have to go on experiencing (at any level) these tragedies before someone has the nerve to say "wait a minute, let's talk. Let's act"
I have friends who have fallen to suicide for over 30 years now, from Tommy Simpson who I was friends with at high school to Bruce Allan who took his own life 2 years ago. Numerous more in between, and probably more I don't even know about. Good guys all of them but something happened in their lives
and they decided that this was the only way out. It isn't. Everyone has a
story about suicide but it's not really talked about. Too taboo? Would we
rather just talk about something else? Anything at all, just not this?
Get the message yet?
Everywhere needs "A Retreat", somewhere where you can go and get help. Even
if it's just for a day to hear someone say that it's ok to talk about it. To
let you cry or shout. People can and will listen. They are there to help.
This is why the retreat is so important to us all. No-one knows what is in
store, if you're reading this perhaps one day you'll need it.
I hope not.
