Kia ora, friends
Great brilliant news! The Retreat has been incredibly kindly donated a kitchen for the Lodge. Fantastic. It's completely gorgeous (see the photo - doesn't include the whiteware).
God bless your weekend, Jamie
This week, thanks to the good weather, things have progressed fantastically - including the arrival of water tank number ONE!
All blessings to you, Jamie
Kia ora friends
Thank you so much for following our progress. We are well underway with work on site, making a Retreat space in Taranaki. This week has seen some amazing, excellent people take part in the project.... and there's plenty of room for more. Sometimes people simply turn up with a spade for a bit of time-out from the day-job - and the Retreat is absolutely about time-out - so that seems to work pretty well!
Thanks to Cruize FM we've seen more interest in our Facebook page - if you've come to us that way -- WELCOME! Thank you for being part of this.
This week, we've been joined by the fabulous Tom Young, who is giving at least SIX MONTHS of his time to the Retreat - and arrived on the plane from England on Tuesday afternoon, and was pressed immediately into service. You'll see Tom on some of today's photos, and increasingly in the mix.Haere mai, Tom.
Heroes of this week included Neville Kemp, who unbelievably kindly delivered a load of metal and gravel to the site, when things were getting a bit crazily muddy. Great respect to Kemp Trucking Ltd. Also, Cast Iron Services made a start on laying the water pipes, but also took time out to fill in a couple of HUGE trenches with their digger (saving HOURS of spade work). Thank YOU, Matt. Baden even took the time to fill up earthbags with us, to start on our Earthbag wall -- thanks, too, to Sandra, Danii, Tyler, Katy, Roxy, Nikki and Tony for their hard graft.
We need YOU! Come and join in - we would love to see you. Watch this space for news of next week's working bees.
Looking forward to sharing this amazing project with YOU!!
