Kia ora, Friends
Taranaki Retreat would like to invite you to MORNING TEA!
Come join us for a cuppa, some home baking and a bacon butty .
Saturday 7th March 10.30am - 12 pm
517 Hurford Road, Omata.
Come visit, have a look-around, and hear our plans for construction, planting,
sustainable energy and providing support to Taranaki people!
Also, meet our two newest arrivals on site - Halo and Char (see the photo for love at first sight!)
Hope to see you on Saturday....
Kia ora friends
We're looking forward to seeing many friends of Taranaki Retreat at the Waitangi Music Festival, Saturday 7th Feb at 6pm - at Taranaki Cathedral.
Tickets available on the door. See you then!
Lots of work going on at the Retreat site at the moment. Please do visit sometime and find out more. We're just delighted with our new site team.... action shot of two of the guys below. Things are moving.
The other photo shows one of the MASSIVE piles of metal which have been incredibly kindly donated to the Retreat by Ferndene Quarries. Thank YOU.
The chooks are the first ever residents of Taranaki Retreat (also donated!) - and they took up residence this afternoon.
Finally, due to complications connecting to the electricity network, we are testing the possibility of building the Retreat to be entirely off-grid. Can you offer any assistance with that plan? We would love the site to be as green, and as sustainable as humanly possible - so this certainly connects with our kaupapa. Can you advise? Suggest grants or equipment that might be available for a complete off-grid solar package? We are getting our heads together on fundraising, and would really appreciate your advice.
Thank you again for all your support.
